Through my craft, I celebrate the Plus-sized female form. Utilizing the inspiration all around me, stimulated by flaws and what we perceive as unappealing. The female form is my dominant topic, whilst being heavily impacted by locally honoured Art Deco culture. Exposure to this is where I developed my combination of styles, with expressive movements and exciting, vibrant colour preferences I find myself living in the realm of Abstract expressionism with a touch of neo-surrealism. I use and adapt techniques from my experience with watercolour and contemporize it to push the style into a more painterly application of Contemporary Art Deco. This shines a light on the demonstrative essence of the personal love/hate affair I have with, myself. Treasuring the flaws we all sense and catch a glimpse of in the mirror – “the things that make us unique”, this is the world I live in, and the unique worlds I create, uncovering the imperfection of form, I find individual perspectives intriguing and evocative.

I encourage a spark of conversation around the non-conformant-image driven-societal expectation of the body, creating a positive and enjoyable experience for the viewer. I work for a non-judgemental life experience for all women and a statement of evolutionary positive reinforcement and acceptance through exposure to all bodily forms. Guiding my philosophy of acceptance and appreciation of all shapes, colours and sizes into the realm of ‘norm’.
